Appreciation certificate and badges from the ITD/income tax dept to tax payers" width="400" height="200" />

As a gesture of thanking the taxpayers, Appreciation certificate and badges from the ITD has been sent out to all those who have paid their taxes.

Taking a new step taken the by income tax department, the ITD thanks the taxpayers by sending them a “certificate of appreciation”. The appreciation certificate from the ITD contains the signature from the chairman of CBDT, Rani Singh Nair.

The certificate mentions the taxpayer’s name and Permanent Account Number (PAN) and acknowledges the taxpayer’s contribution towards building of the nation.

The Income Tax Dept certificate for taxpayers also includes a badge based on the amount of contribution. There are four different types of badges from the ITD based on amount of tax paid:

• If the Tax paid is between 1 lakh and 10 lakhs, it will be a bronze badge
• If the Tax paid is between 10 lakhs and 50 lakhs, it will be a Silver badge
• If the Tax paid is between 50 lakhs and 1 crore, it will be a Gold badge
• If the Tax paid is over 1 crore, it will be a platinum badge

Majority of the people have gotten the bronze badge.

This appreciative gesture from the ITD came as a surprise for all the taxpayers. The department has stated that the certificate will be given to almost 8.43 lakh taxpayers across the country.
